KOHLER Power, a division of KOHLER Co., celebrates its centenary in power products on 16th February 2020.
The ‘KOHLER Automatic’, the first modern-day generator, was introduced at the National Tractor Show in Kansas on 16th February in 1920. Since this ground-breaking launch, KOHLER Power has continually developed best-in class products and services for power generation and protection. Testament to developing cutting-edge solutions and a commitment to continual investment, KOHLER Co. acquired KOHLER Uninterruptible Power (KUP), formerly Pure Power Systems, in 2017.
KUP pioneered modular UPS and transformerless technology and continues to innovate with new products such as the ABB DPA250 S4, the world’s most efficient uninterruptible power supply in its class.
KOHLER Power has been written into the history books countless times over the past ten decades through its peerless products and innovation. KOHLER Power supplied five generators and engines to Admiral Byrd on two of his courageous Antarctic expeditions in 1929 and 1933, providing the sole source of heat, light and communication. In addition, KOHLER Precision Controls were used in the Apollo spaceship and Moon suit, chosen for their un-matched reliability, zero rejection rate and expedient communication.
Ian Jackson, Managing Director for KUP – Ireland commented: “As KOHLER Power celebrates its 100th anniversary in power products, it is an opportunity to reflect on the rapid and continued growth of technology. KUP is delighted to be part of that history. The centenary is an opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to our vision and values: to be a driving force within the power protection industry offering pioneering technology and service excellence.
He continues: “With the commitment of our incredible team and the support of our parent company KOHLER Co., we see major opportunities to broaden our position further and take a leading position at the forefront of the industry, as we step into the next 100 years.”
